The Black Death is known as one of the worst pandemics in human history. It is estimated to have killed 75 to 200 million people within Europe & Asia in the 1300s.

TASK 2: THE BLACK DEATH MAP

Read article below then draw an illustration that shows where The Black Death plague was thought to have started and where it is believed to have traveled in chronological order. A handout of a map of Europe and Asia will be provided.

TASK 4: Survivor's Journal

Your mission is to write a detailed online journal about surviving the plague. You are to write as if you were there, as either a King, Queen, Nobel man, Peasant, Doctor, Priest, or Merchant. The more detailed, the better. There should be 7 journal entries, one for each day of a week. Don't be afraid to describe unpleasant sights or events, it's all part of the history. Be sure to speak in first person and don't be afraid to get lost in the character.  An example of a single entree can be seen below:

Imagine there is social media in the Middle Ages. Log In to the classroom's community Facebook page titled "Black-Book" to make posts on your imaginary experiences. Post about updates on who contracted the plague, what new towns or villages are being infected, updates on symptoms (if you have them), etc. Make sure posts are realistic and historically correct, even though this is an imaginary stopic.
